Green beans are one of my favorite vegetables to eat and I’m always looking for new ways to make them. This quick recipe is going to be my go-to recipe from now on! I can’t believe I never made green beans like this before. They were crisp and so delicious. I also love this new serving dish I picked up at Target last week. It’s the perfect size for serving side dishes for dinner parties!
2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes, more or less to taste
1 1/2 lbs green beans, trimmed
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 tsp coarse salt
2 Tbsp water
Heat the olive oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet. Add the red pepper flakes and stir to coat in the oil. Add the green beans and stir until the beans begin to blister and brown. Cook for 5-7 minutes. Add the minced garlic and salt, stirring constantly to slightly brown the garlic and it becomes fragrant. Add the water and immediately cover the skillet. Cook until the beans are bright green and crisp tender. Transfer to a dish and serve immediately.
