We’re big fans for brussels sprouts and I’m always looking for ways to change up enjoying them. I usually shred them and saute and finish with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar and shaved Parmesan. We do enjoy them roasted as well, but I wasn’t in the mood to turn my oven to roast them … so here comes the air fryer.
I started out by steaming them in the microwave, drained any excess water and then smashed them with a bottom of a glass. A spritz of avocado spray, seasoning and then I popped them in the air fryer. They were really good and I will be making them again!
1 lb package of Brussels sprouts
avocado oil spray
salt and fresh ground pepper
garlic powder
Steam the Brussels sprouts according to the package instructions. Drain any excess water before transferring to a plate. Using the bottom of a glass, smash the Brussels sprouts flat. Transfer to your air fryer basket. Lightly spray with avocado oil spray and season with salt, fresh ground pepper and garlic powder. Flip over and season the other side.
Set your air fryer to 400 degrees and cook on one side for 8-10 minutes. Flip over and cook for another 5-7 minutes or until your Brussels are cooked to your desired crispiness. Cooking times may vary depending on the type/size of your Air Fryer.
